Special Utility Reports
These reports are only to be used under the supervision of an ABC programmer. DO NOT play with them or try them out just to see what they do.

Export Data (8)
Most of the data in the ABC Accounting program can be exported to DOS files using this report.

The first message you receive when running this report is "Enter file character". This means the character which designates the file that you want to export. For example, C for the Customer file, R for Receivable Invoices, I for the Inventory file.

When dumping (W) that has " in lines, at non-repeat fields enter 101 and 0 in repeat fields. When exporting a list Such as space P it may not have numbers after the code or it will dump the code that many times.

The second message is "Enter number of non-repeating fields". Enter the number of fields that you want to export to DOS. A non-repeating field is one that is not repeated. For example, the fields on the C screen are non-repeating. The fields in the top part of the Invoice screen (R) are non-repeating and the fields that list the items and prices are repeating fields. If you ask for 8 fields from the C file, the computer will export Field # 0 - the Customer Code, Field # 1 - the Customer Name, Field # 2 - the Attention line, Field # 3 - the Address, Field # 4 - the Zip Code, Field # 5 - Zip extension, Field # 7 - Phone #, Field # 8 - Print Code. (Field # 6 is not used.) NOTE: If you are exporting repeating fields as well as non-repeating fields, you must specify the total number of non-repeating fields. (The A file has 10 non-repeating fields, B has 20, D has 10, E has 80, K has 16, L has 6, M has 10, O has 40, P has 6, R has 30, T has 10 and W has 1 non-repeating field.

The third message is "Enter number of repeating fields". Only some ABC screens have repeating fields. For example the R screen - Invoices, the D screen - Deposits, the B screen - A/P Bills and the L screen - Ledgers. You must enter the total number of repeating fields that exist on the desired file. (The A file has 4 repeating fields, B has 12, D has 10, E has 3, K has 3, L has 3, M has 12, O has 20, P has 4, R has 12, T has 10 and W has 1 repeating field.)

The fourth message is "Enter number of posted fields". Most of the ABC screens have some posted fields. These are fields that receive posted and calculated information from other fields. The cursor does not stop at these fields. (The B file has 4 posted fields, C has 38, E has 100, G has 73, I has 50, J has 22, K has 17, L has 2, N has 10, O has 3, Q has 19, R has 9, S has 14 and V has 39.)
